In the waters around Bonaire, where I live, turtles are not abundant, but due to various legal protections and a local conservation group their numbers are at least stable. However, it is always a thrill to swim with one, and this image is based on time I spent snorkeling with a green turtle in Bonaire’s beautiful waters.
