That was hundreds of years ago. Now small wild herds of donkeys can be seen while driving around Bonaire. Bonaire’s donkeys have a distinctive strip across their shoulders which they inherited from their ancestor, the Nubian wild ass (Equus asinus africanus). Price: $0.80 Salty Twilight Postcard Details  Artwork by Jake Richter These are the salt mounds at the Cargill Salt Works in the southern part of the island of Bonaire in the Dutch Caribbean. The photograph was taken after sunset on a somewhat cloudy day, when the reflection of the sun’s last rays created a luscious pink sky, further shading the normally white salt mounds with rosy color.
