Old Rincon House - Limited Edition Print

Details

Old Rincon House by Jake Richter

About the image
Bonairean architecture from over a century ago, constructed with mud, rock, and plaster, still stands in places all over the island. Many such structures are still in regular use, although occasionally one encounters buildings that have seen better days. However, even these provide a real sense of age and history of Bonaire and are treasures in their own right.

Palometa #1 - Print

Details

by Jake Richter

About the image
Cruising around in a loose school in the shallows of Bonaire's waters, Palometa are a wonderful combination of beauty and grace. Their silvery blue bodies reflect the light from above, while their almost whip-like dorsal and anal fins further define their sleek form, giving them a streamlined look and a certain elegance. This particular school of Palometa can be frequently seen off of Playa Neme, also known as No Name Beach, on the island of Klein Bonaire. Signed limited edition prints are available in a series of 150.

Peek-a-boo Crab - Print

Details

By Jake Richter

About the image
Most snorkelers and divers look at fish, and forget that there are hundreds, even thousands, of species of other critters beneath Bonaire’s waters. Among the most easy to find, but most overlooked are crustaceans. Among these, hermit crabs in all shapes of shells and “homes” populate the reefs, and if you’re patient, they may even pause to take a look at you too.

Limited Edition Print available in two sizes.

Pelicans on Pilings by Jake Richter

About the image
Pelicans are Bonaire's friendly aerial hunters of fish. While you may usually see one around boats, seeing them all lined up on three parallel pilings is unusual.

Persimmon - Food Within series

Details

by Jake Richter
In November 2010, Jake began a series of macro photography that he called Food Within. The food was sliced thinly and backlit. He took great delight in asking people to guess what each was. A persimmon slice glows with an inner warmth.
